FRP STRUCTURAL DESIGN CAPABILITIES
YWCT-YWT JV specializes in small and medium size Pultruded FRP Industrial Cooling Towers such as those required for DSCL Hariawa Distillery. YWCT incorporates latest structural design features prevalent in Europe, Israel, Russian region. One of the competitors, despite its age-old experience in cooling tower industry, has relatively shorter experience and lesser merits in Pultruded FRP structural design. Generally speaking, the competitors’ major focus, attention and interest may be in large size cooling tower clients and projects which run into Rs 200-300 Cr value, rather than small and medium size cooling towers required for this project. In such a scenario, bigger infra-cooling tower suppliers may tend to lose sustained focus and after sales service, over the years to small projects and clients. Such a chronic and almost predictable neglect of small clients by big cooling tower suppliers sometimes, can have hazardous implications as you would have experienced in the past. YWCT-YWT JV with its select focus, dedicated team, prompt and personalized services shall be an ideal vendor & partner for your distillery project.
YWCT-YWT JV has introduced Specialized PVC Air-Filters/ Louvers to screen off all open Air-Inlet sides of the cooling tower from outside debris, birds, worms, leaves, bagasse fibres, etc. entering into basin and mixing in circulating water system. It also reduces exposure of basin, water, tower internals and structures to sunlight – thereby checking biological growth. Use of expensive biocide in water treatment regime can be contained reducing overall water treatment costs significantly. For Bagasse Fired Boilers used in Sugar Industries / slop fired boilers in Distilleries, this small device/ feature / innovation is especially useful.
Competitors, even though having more experience in supplying to sugar industry and distillery for decades have no experience of making a “Closed /Concealed Design” Cooling Tower on such a scale, like the one supplied to DSCL Sugar Ajbapur by us. Even if they were to study and replicate this feature from DSCL Ajbapur Cooling Towers installed in DSCL Ajbapur cooling tower, they will have lesser experience than YWCT, to accurately calculate the pressure drop of the PVC louvers/ Air Filters. Even a minor miscalculation can alter the airflow rate at air inlet and will likely affect the cold water temp.
The competitors have only been providing open Air Inlet Counter Flow cooling towers during previous years to sugar and distillery. One of the competitors extensively supplied wood cross flow cooling towers, in which louvers design somewhat acted as air filter. However, in Counter flow design, louvers / air filter, design such as Ajbapur have never been used by the competitors.
YWT procures even a non-critical structural component like Casing Sheet from a reputed European Manufacturer in Turkey (Pultech Turkey-thru-Magnus India) It is made from high quality and expensive isopthalic resins. These sheets don’t stiffen out and crack or rupture over time and are meant for long life and withstand hot-humid-wet conditions of the cooling tower environment.
YWCT-YWT JV is keen to further improve and upgrade its cooling tower construction features, which can be discussed during DDE, in case of award of contract. In contrast to the previous cooling towers at DSCL Ajbapur, which was essentially a conversion project, we plan to incorporate even more advanced structural design, aesthetic finish/ very unique, aesthetically coloured, and user friendly maintenance stairways and walkways, inside and outside the cooling tower. In simpler words, the new cooling tower besides having EXCELLENT PERFORMANCE and will be extremely user friendly, easy to maintain, and one of the most BEAUTIFUL FRP Cooling Tower ever made in India.

Fire accidents in distillery, refinery and process cooling towers of small and medium size are not so uncommon. Source of fire may be an explosion in motor or a short circuit or combustible gases making way into the water header etc. Good Fire Retardant grade fills and drift eliminators, PVC louvers should be used in cooling tower to prevent fire from spreading to fills and other parts of cooling tower.
YWCT uses special FIRE RETARDANT FRP by using Aluminium Hydrates and other retardant compounds in the MOC for distillery and refinery application. Likewise, FR grade robust PP Fills made as per relevant CTI, ASTM, UL and FM standards are used for fire hazard processes. These materials are more expensive and safer than those used in power plant cooling towers.
Distillery processes and output is very sensitive to the minutest change in cold water temperature which can significantly affect the fermentation process as well as purity and quality of ethanol. Hence, distillery cooling towers should be accurately designed. YWCT-YWT have installed a Fermentation Process Cooling Tower for KM Sugar Distillery at challenging approach of 2.8 C and its performance report is excellent.
